Quebecers in the shadow of our success!

Most of the Quebecers don’t realise how our province has a huge role on the international scene. We (and that include me till I wrote this text) think that our little piece of French ground is unknown on the planet. We think we are some victims of our past. We think that our culture is a dust in the world. Somehow, we are, as a big province for that little amount of people, but it’s not the quantity, it’s the quality that matters. So, let me introduce you to all the great things Quebecers achieved, not only in their native land, but especially in the world.

First of all, Quebec city is the oldest fortify city in North America, Quebec bridge is the longest cantilever bridge in the world, the Chateau Frontenac is the most photograph castle in the world, the Montreal Canadians are the most prestigious hockey team in the world. Those things put our small province in the mind of an enormous amount of people all around the world. They make us who we are as a French minority in a English majority.

Second of all, on the cultural side, a lot of the most and important music groups or single artists come to play in Quebec. Metallica, Paul McCartney, U2, Linkin Park, Sting and Kiss have played in Quebec cause they say we are an amazing crowd. Those groups did not came in our province because we are 8 millions, they come because we define ourselves as a great destination for music and anybody knows that.

Third of all, Quebecers changes the world. Celine Dion, Guy Laliberté with Le Cirque du Soleil, Louis Garneau and Devinci for bikes, Mario Lemieux and Guy Lafleur in the hockey. All of these people made and still make a difference, they also prove how awesome Quebecers are.

Finally, I just want to remind everybody who’s going to read this article that we lived in the shadow because of our language that makes us a minority. Now, I think everything mention previously already lighted up our little piece of French ground, so everybody should know by now where Quebec is on a map.
